With the smart AI (Artificial Intelligence) chatbots that engaged us with their witty banter and the apps that kept us glued to our screens with their interesting offers, the digital market saw the rise of many new trends in 2017.
Here are four trends that ruled 2017 and changed the game of digital marketing warfare.
They came, they saw, and they conquered. This is what we can say about chatbots in 2017. We humans have always drooled over a robot with which we can communicate. And when we got an AI chatbot that could not only communicate, but also solve customer queries, we just couldn’t get enough of it. No wonder brands like Skype, Adidas, Hilton, and Amazon have moved to bots for interacting with customers.
After chatbots, 2017 saw the domination of videos in the digital market. Whether it was a small clip before the trailer of season 7 of Game of Thrones or other videos promoting products of certain brands, causes, etc., videos were all over the place and were stamping their authority on the market like champs.
Pokemon Go opened a door to new possibilities – the possibilities of using augmented reality for advertising in the market. This trick was not unnoticed by other companies. And slowly but steadily, they also followed suit. Companies like Sephora and Starbucks took the help of augmented reality for their marketing campaigns, which helped them stay on top of the game.
Let’s face it, a mobile app is very convenient, optimized, and accessible. So, if you are a businessman or an entrepreneur, how do you use it to promote your business? You advertize it on the app. Of course, we still haven’t reached that era where apps could totally replace websites. But hey, we aren’t that far either. Don’t believe us, just ask Google.
So yeah, those were pretty much the digital market trends that rocked 2017. What do you think will happen in 2018? Want to know our verdict? Then, stay tuned.
